Limited capacity regarding appointments available for EEA-registrations
Oslo police district currently has very limited capacity in regards to appointments for EEA-registrations. The Police notes that an EU/EEA-citizen in any case will have legal residence in Norway beyond three months if he or she exercises EEA rights. A right of residence according to EEA law beyond three months is not conditional on a registration certificate being issued by the authorities. Further information about the registration certificate in provided on the website of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI), see https://udi.no/en/word-definitions/registration-certificate-for-eueea-nationals/
Appointment and attendance
The Department of Immigration is open Monday-Friday for those with appointments, between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
You must have an appointment or a confirmation from us to enter our premises.
Log in via My Applications on udi.no to book or change an appointment with the police: Log in to book an appointment.
New solution for appointment booking and attendance
Have you applied but not booked an appointment before 27 May?
If you have applied online with UDI and/or received a permit, but have not booked an appointment with the police before 27 May 2024, you must contact the police to get help with booking av appointment. You cannot book an appointment online. In your application, you will find which police station or office you should contact.
If you must book an appointment yourself through the police's appointment portal and there are no available slots, it is important that you keep checking the portal! The police will continually release appointments as we have capacity.

Information to citizens of Ukraine
If you have been granted collective protection and are asked to meet up to give fingerprints etc. - then you have to book an appointment.
You can call or send us an E-mail to book an appointment at:
Telephone: 22 34 21 00 or E-mail: post.oslo@politiet.no
Unaccompanied minors must bring their representative appointed by Norwegian authorities with them when they meet.
For more information: The website New in Norway was published on 1st of June 2023 and contains information in several languages for adults who have applied or will apply for protection in Norway because of the war in Ukraine: https://www.nyinorge.no/en/
Processing time and appointments
Please follow our waiting times on politiet.no. Our capacity to answer phone call and e-mail inquiries are very limited. You will not receive any other answers if you contact us by phone og e-mail, than if you search for general information on the police website. For more information see UDI.no and the Tax Administration/foreign.
Due to our long case processing times and waiting times to get an appointment, there are now especially many people who want their case processed faster. However, very special circumstances are required for your case to be moved to the front of the queue. For the police to be able to assess a documented request for priority, you MUST follow UDI`s guidelines for priority on UDI.no: Can your case be moved to the front of the queue? (be given priority)
Sending in additional documents in a case which is with the UDI or the Police
If you have a case with the UDI – and now need to send us an additional document, new information in your case or an appeal of a decision – you can upload it here. You can also upload documents if the police have asked you to do so.
Here you can read the information and how to proceed: Sending in additional documents in a case which is with the UDI - UDI
Checklists which explains which documents you must hand in with your application
